This piece is based on Psalm 95:6-7, Hebrews 2:16-18, Hebrews 3:1-2, and John 10:1-18. While creating this piece, I had painted a detailed hand reaching to open the door. It took up the majority of my time, especially since this was a live painting with a strict time limit. As I neared completion, proud of the work I’d put into that hand, I heard the Lord’s loving voice say, “Remove the hand.” I wrestled with it. I had worked so hard, how could I just smear it off? But again, He gently said, “Remove it. I open the door. All you have to do is walk in.
