This painting is based on Isaiah 9. Jesus, just like us, was born a baby. He learned to walk and talk. He was embraced by His mother and father. He took on the restrictions of being human, experiencing everything we experience. And in the end, He endured the greatest pain, the deepest hurt, and the most brutal death because He loves us. He was, is, and always will be perfect. And yet, the Perfect One chose to come as a child—born to imperfect people, in an unclean place—and was honored as the Humble King that He is. Every part of this piece is important, each detail symbolizing Jesus' majesty. My favorite is in the center; you see a split between the red and blue clothing, signifying the beginning of the veil being torn.
