While preparing for an event, I was led to pray over the parable of the ten virgins. As I read it repeatedly, my thoughts kept returning to the oil in the virgins’ lamps. Then the Lord brought me to Isaiah 61, where the phrase “the oil of gladness” felt like it was screaming to get my attention. Soon, the Lord began showing me more scripture, repeatedly saying, “There’s going to be a wedding.” I was overwhelmed with joy, anticipation, and eagerness as I began to paint. This became the fastest live painting I’ve ever done. He revealed that we are awaiting a celebration where we will meet the Lover of our souls. The oil in our lamps isn’t ordinary—it’s not oil of fear or condemnation. It is the oil of gladness.
